MISSION: The mission of the Division of Welfare and Supportive Services is to engage clients, staff, and the community to provide public assistance benefits to all who qualify and reasonable support for children with absentee parents to help Nevadans achieve safe, stable, and healthy lives. INFO: Many individuals are looking for a new or better job. Nevada provides residents access to a number of assistance programs, educational services, career counseling, and job training resources. So whether you are currently unemployed and are searching for a new job or maybe you just want to gain a new skill the state of Nevada and federal government have several programs available to you. The Career Enhancement Program, or CEP, is paid for by employers. It offers re-employment services to job seekers and can provide clients with training designed to improve their earning potential. This includes resources to help them increase their skills set and resulting job skills that are required in today's workplace. CEP works closely with the Nevada Unemployment Insurance Department to ensure that those that need assistance get it. Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP- formerly known as Food Stamps), needy and non-needy caretaker program, energy assistance (EAP) and Medicaid. New Frontier is a non-smoking program, which includes the outside premises. Outpatient treatment is an option after successful completion of in-patient program. Transitional living is an option up to a 6-month stay.
