Referrals and Resources for Clients

No one database is current. Many aren't relevant to your client. Sharing a link is not enough to help someone achieve better health outcomes. For frontline workers like CHWs, you learn specific resources that work best for your communities to refer clients to places where they will receive real help.

Good Neighbors Warming Center

The warming center rotated weekly between a coalition of downtown Reno faith communities. Churches opened their doors overnight, providing warmth, space, and dignity for guests. The schedule shifted throughout the season / a reminder of how responsive, community-led work actually operates and the need to check back on the page for updates.

Hampton House Garden

Mission: The Hampton House Garden Project, launched in 2020 in Reno, Nevada, strives to foster a strong community and advance Black and Indigenous Food Justice in a local "food desert." It was initiated by Lily Baran and her son Oliver.
