INFO: The agency 's focus has been on identifying and addressing the needs of the disenfranchised and marginalized community, to include but not limited too, the LGBTQ+. It is important to have representation from the community being served. Our client based arrange in needs and specific issues that can vary the time being spent on an individual bases. In most case, the clients start with intake assessment to determine needs and challenges this likely take up to a hour to complete the initial assessment. Having staff who are bilingual assist with being able to complete assessments with our Spanish population, plus, in many cases it make our client population more comfortable when they can speak to individuals who speak their language. We do a lot of outreach in the community and social media that describe our services, events, and campaign promotions. The breakdown of time that the CHW spends 30-60 minutes assessment, 15 development treatment goals, 10 follow up on linkages to services, 15-20 with clients to provide food bags from food pantry, 5 referral to clinical staff. Having a diverse staff helps with being able to approach the community with individuals who look like the community being served, but more importantly, having a diverse staff coming with special skill set that assist with being able to reach the community with a understanding of behaviors and cultural differences.

This is a faith-based program, and the client will be required to attend life skills/Bible study three times a week and church services on Sunday. The client must also be willing and able to work. A fee of $400 a month is paid to the program. This money is returned to the client to assist with a down payment for a vehicle or to secure an apartment when they graduate.
