Good Neighbors Warming Center

The Good Neighbors Warming Center ran from November 11, 2025 through March 17, 2026, providing a safe, warm overnight refuge for community members throughout the winter season. This page shares how the program worked, who made it possible, and how to get involved when the next season opens.

The warming center is a community effort lead by Hampton House in partnership with RISE and a rotating coalition of Reno faith communities. Nightly staffing costs were covered by RISE.

The warming center rotated weekly between a coalition of downtown Reno faith communities. Churches opened their doors overnight, providing warmth, space, and dignity for guests. Program Notes

What to bring Coffee beans, food, clothing, and hygiene donations are always welcome. No coordination needed and you don't have to bring anything.

Activities for guests Coloring books, markers, colored pencils, playing cards, small portable games (dominoes, Shut the Box), and self-improvement books make a real difference in the morning hours.

Supply donations Most of us are volunteers without a warehouse, so it may take a little longer to respond to supply offers. We appreciate your kindness and will do our best to coordinate.

Donation receipts Donations were managed by RISE. Discuss tax deductibility with your accountant.
